Our Garden Plan

Introduction

Our gardening goal is to grow a large variety of fruits and vegetables for home preserving, ideally enough to store for our annual consumption.  Establishing and maintaining a large garden to meet that goal is no easy task, we'll need to test our soil to understand what nutrients are there and what may be needed for each plant.  We'll also need to protect our crops from all sorts of pests and foragers, like deer and roaming chickens.  There's a lot of planning and preparation before each spring planting as assessments and improvements need to be made each year.  Farming is a real life science and each year is a new experiment.
